He obtained his 6 passenger/25 ton masters/towing endorsement license in 2007. Captain Russ knows all about the local history and most interesting places on a Space Coast.

Our Boats

We cruise in style on our comfortable pontoon boats, shaded by bimini tops with cushioned seating throughout that allows guests to stretch out and relax. Pontoons give us an opportunity to explore more shallow depths in the lagoon to find more wildlife like the bottom dwellers such as sting rays, horseshoe craps, crowned conch.

  • Have close encounters with local wildlife : dolphins, manatees, birds and some large cranes!
  • Our boats are kept clean and safe.
  • Comfortable seats & warm blankets
  • Small Group Size

Our Mission

The Dolphin Family Tours team is comprised of passionate individuals that take pride in protecting this rare ecosystem, all while having fun! We are teaming up with the community through local sponsorships, volunteer cleanups, and educational experiences to help make a difference.

With your support, we can help preserve the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary for future generations to enjoy.

The Lagoon we cruise in...

Brevard County is home to the most bio-diverse ecosystem in North America. Our mission is to help preserve this rare habitat by sharing our knowledge, inspiring our guests, and giving them a unique chance to immerse themselves in nature.

Whether you’re a local resident or visitor to the Space Coast area, our tours are sure to give you a whole new perspective on the beauty of the Indian River Lagoon.

Our Location

We are conveniently located in the heart of Merritt Island, just a short distance away from popular destinations such as Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Port Canaveral, and Cocoa Village.

We operate within the Banana River Lagoon located in the heart of the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary. Nicknamed “the cradle of the ocean,” this stretch of water is nestled between the barrier Islands of Florida’s east coast and the mainland. It is the most bio-diverse habitat in North America and is home to approximately 4,300 species of plants and animals including more rare and endangered species than any other county in Florida.
